Lamp sculpture made from certified wood
Christophe Viudes studio is located in front of the Pyrenees: he is contemplating them and they provide him with inspiration. Former Compagnon of the Tour de France, specialized in the wind instruments, he wanted to create an uncluttered object, to show his passion.
Several months have been necessary to find the appropriate shape, which had to be a lamp and a sculpture. He wanted to make a thin figure, through which it was possible to enjoy the landscape and that was strong and timeless, like the mountain.
While apparently simple, the lamp is difficult to manufacture: thanks to his first profession, through which he learnt the thoroughness of working with wood. The oak is from the Dordogne Valley or Limousin. It is purchased from a FSC(*) and PEFC(**) certified wholesaler. The lamp is protected with 100% natural linseed oil as lining.
