Tiffany makes a donation of one million dollars to fight the pandemic
Tiffany makes a 750,000 $ donation to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization and a 250,000 $ donation to the New York City COVID-19 Response and Impact Fund.
Since it was created in 2000, the Tiffany & Co Foundation is committed to protecting the environment and to protect terrestrial and marine ecosystems all over the planet. It provides support to bodies dedicated to conserve natural resources in the field of responsible management of mineral extraction and coral conservation.
The Maison has always been guided by its belief that any successful enterprise has a responsibility to the community. The today's commitment is responding to the most urgent needs on a global scale and by supporting more specifically New York City.
The COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization (WHO) establishes priority grant of aid region by region, taking into account the existing health infrastructure and their ability to face the pandemic. Its action focuses on providing equipment to health-care workers, assisting the country to treat and diagnose the disease, giving access to the most recent scientific information to prevent infectin and providing adequate care to those who need it. Furthermore, it acts to accelerate the discovery of vaccine developments and cures.
The New York City COVID-19 Response and Impact Fund supports non-profit social service agencies which fight against the sanitary and economic impact of the coronavirus through donations and loans. Funds are urgently disbursed for the most most affected parts of the city, covering five districts.
