Urban fashion made from African traditional cotton fabric
Babatunde is a Yoruba Nigerian name which means "the father returns": African and traditional values are the core of the brand, based in Johannesburgh.
Fabrics are hand-made in Africa, in a traditional manner, with application of wax. The prints represent the uniqueness of each human being, personnality and mood: each fabric is unique.
All of the production is done locally in Africa, different plants located in Durban, Johannesburg & Cape Town. No two garments are alike.
In 2009, the first collection included five hats and five caps, the fashion designer Gareth Cowden completed it with ties, bow ties and ladies cravats, clutch bags, laptop sleeves and an umbrella. Keeping to its philosophy: respect yourself & those around you & make decisions that benefit Africa.
